Since 2021, we have been a part of the People&Baby group, which has found in La Giocomotiva a model to follow and to propose to all future Italian schools joining the group.

WHO WE ARE

Our school is a joyful environment focused on building a loving relationship between staff, children and parents. Our aim is to create a feeling of home, where children can develop at their own pace, building their self-confidence, independence and individuality. We provide a safe and stimulating environment that uses indoor space to create exciting learning opportunities. We support children’s natural curiosity and creativity with a wide range of activities even in extra-curricular hours (music, swimming, dance, psychomotor skills… and much more!).

FULL ENGLISH APPROACH

We use a full English approach, in which exposure to the English language is daily and occurs both in routine moments and during the design work. The stimulation of verbal and sound constructions different from that of the mother tongue allows children to activate new connections, to have greater mental openness, flexibility and adaptability to different contexts and cultures.

INTERNAL KITCHEN

Eating healthy foods is the key to growth, which is why we attach enormous importance to the quality of the food offered. Each meal is prepared with fresh local ingredients and our cooking methods preserve their nutritional value. The meals are created to emphasize the flavours and colours of the foods and to help children eat healthily with a low salt content. EDUCATION 0-6-YEAR-OLDS

The educational link between the two schools (Nursery and Preschool) underlines another key element of our school: the educational and didactic uniqueness which, through the various projects and educational activities, has the aim of ensuring the most effective and careful development cognitive and emotional development of each child. In this perspective, we create various moments of meeting and exchange between the two realities so as to promote mutual understanding between children and teachers.

 

EYFS AND MONTESSORI APPROCHES

Following the EYFS and Montessori approaches we believe that children need to have the opportunity to grow, become independent and self-confident so we provide a daily routine that supports practical life skills, social experience in and out of the classroom. The UK EYFS methodology provides 3 main areas of development: personal, social and emotional/communication and language/physical development. The decision to follow this approach will accompany and offer the best growth and learning opportunities to every child of La Giocomotiva di via Boccaccio from Nursery to Preschool.
