The multiple intelligences of La Giocomotiva meets the English of Canadian Island in the reopening of the historic La Fantina school (with breathtaking views of Florence!) as a preschool for 2-6 year olds.
La Giocomotiva Canadian Island Preschool (ex La Fantina) has two different sections divided by age: an English section and an Italian-English section. In addition to sharing a daily routine, English takes place through playtime, songs, and reading. By stimulating verbal and sound constructions that are different different from the mother tongue children activate new connections, develop an open mind, flexibility, and adaptability to different contexts and cultures.
Our educational programme is based primarily on outdoor education: we aim to encourage personal development through various activities in nature.
We welcome children between the ages of 2 and 3 who are placed in our “spring section” and have priority access to our preschool.
La Giocomotiva Canadian Island Preschool (ex La Fantina) offers various afternoon activities for children who are not necessarily enrolled at our school. Motor skills, cooking, pastry, theater, English, activities with animals… and much more!
In the summer, La Giocomotiva Canadian Island Preschool (ex La Fantina) collaborates with Canadian Island to give children and teenagers from 3 to 16 years old the opportunity to develop autonomy, friendship, courage, and self-confidence during our summer camps. Our summer camps, in Tuscany, are an unforgettable experience and a unique opportunity to learn English by living it by alternating classroom lessons with outdoor activities.

Every year, with the closure of nurseries, La Giocomotiva Canadian Island Preschool (ex La Fantina) and Canadian Island offer day camps as places where your children can learn English in a safe and fun environment. Art, music, and theater workshops, recreational and educational activities, as well as water games, offer children a day of fun in English.
Tuscany with its timeless landscapes and lush nature is the setting of our Canadian Island Overnight Camps. Teenagers will find a familiar and safe environment, where they are free to express themselves and move around while living the English 24 hours a day.
